Freshdesk Pricing Explained (2026)
Three tiers, $19 to $89 an agent. There is no free plan any more — and on the entry tier, the AI add‑on costs more than the seat it attaches to.
- Free plan
- No — 14-day Enterprise trial
- Entry paid
- $19/agent/mo, billed annually
- Top tier
- $89/agent/mo
- What inflates the bill
- AI add-ons, not seats
The short version
The headline is $19 an agent, and that number is real. What it leaves out is that AI is priced separately and priced per agent: Freddy AI Copilot is $29 an agent a month. A Growth seat with Copilot attached costs $48 — two and a half times the advertised figure.
- Decide on the add-ons first
- Copilot costs the same $29 on every tier, so it weighs heaviest on Growth and barely registers on Enterprise. That changes which tier is actually best value.
- Then count the AI sessions
- The first 500 Freddy AI Agent sessions are included. After that it is $49 per 100 — a variable cost that scales with ticket volume, not with headcount.

What each tier costs
| Plan | Per agent / month | Day pass | What the tier adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $19 | $2 | Ticketing, shared inbox, customer portal, knowledge base, analytics, threads and tasks, roles and permissions |
| Pro | $55 | $7 | Adds multilingual helpdesk, custom dashboards, intelligent routing, multiple SLA policies, external collaborators |
| Enterprise | $89 | $12 | Adds Freddy AI Insights, skill-based routing, sandbox, audit logs, IP whitelisting |
Read from the vendor pricing page on 15 September 2026. All figures are the annual-billing rate per agent. Monthly billing is available at a higher rate. Day passes let an occasional helper work a single day without a permanent seat, which is why the price varies by tier. Check the current plans before committing.
The add-ons that move the bill
Freshdesk’s tier prices are unusually easy to read. Its add-on prices are where the real budgeting happens, because they are charged on different units — some per agent, some per unit of work.
Freddy AI Copilot — $29 per agent per month. This is the assistant that sits with your human agents. It is the single largest distortion in Freshdesk pricing: on Growth it more than doubles the seat cost, on Pro it adds about half again, and on Enterprise it is a third. If you intend to buy it, compare tiers at $48, $84 and $118 rather than $19, $55 and $89.
Freddy AI Agent sessions — first 500 included, then $49 per 100. A session is a customer conversation the AI handles. This cost tracks your ticket volume, so it grows when your business grows rather than when your team does. At high volume it can exceed the seat cost entirely, which is the opposite of how most helpdesk budgets are modelled.
Connector app tasks — $80 per 5,000. MCP actions — $15 per 1,000. These are automation and integration volumes. Most small teams never reach them; teams wiring Freshdesk into a wider stack should model them.
What forces an upgrade
Three things, in the order they usually bite.
Routing rules. Growth handles a single queue well. The moment you need tickets sorted by product line, language or skill, you are looking at Pro for intelligent routing and Enterprise for skill-based routing. This is the most common reason teams move up, and it arrives sooner than people expect.
SLA policies. One SLA covers one kind of customer. As soon as you have a paid tier and a free tier, or an enterprise contract alongside self-serve, you need multiple SLA policies — and that is a Pro feature. At $36 an agent more, this single line item is often the whole upgrade decision.
Languages. The multilingual helpdesk sits at Pro. If you support customers in more than one language, Growth is not a starting point, it is a dead end.
There is no free plan
This matters if you are comparing against older articles, which frequently still describe a free Freshdesk tier. What exists now is a 14-day trial that starts you on Enterprise — every feature unlocked, then a decision.
That trial design is worth using deliberately. Because it hands you the top tier, the useful test is not whether Freshdesk works; it is which features you actually reach for. Spend the fortnight noting every time you use skill-based routing, a second SLA policy or a custom dashboard. If you never touch them, Growth is genuinely enough. If you use them daily in week one, you are a Pro or Enterprise customer and should budget accordingly rather than starting low and being pushed up in month three.
The absence of a free tier also changes the competitive picture. If a free plan is what you are after, that is the one thing Freshdesk cannot offer at any price — we cover the tools that can in our Freshdesk alternatives comparison.
Who the pricing suits
Good value for
- Single-queue support teams in one language, where Growth at $19 is a complete product rather than a stripped one
- Teams with seasonal or occasional helpers, where $2 to $12 day passes avoid paying twelve months for two weeks of cover
- Businesses that want AI handled as an explicit, measurable line item rather than bundled invisibly into the seat price
Poor value for
- Very small teams that need a free tier — Freshdesk no longer has one at all
- Teams that want Copilot on every agent at the entry tier, where the add-on costs more than the seat
- High-ticket-volume businesses leaning on AI deflection, where session fees can outgrow the whole seat bill
Frequently asked questions
How much does Freshdesk cost per agent?
On annual billing it is $19 an agent a month for Growth, $55 for Pro and $89 for Enterprise, read from the vendor pricing page on 15 September 2026. Monthly billing costs more. Those figures exclude AI add-ons, which are charged separately.
Does Freshdesk have a free plan?
No. Freshdesk offers a 14-day free trial that places you on the Enterprise plan, but there is no permanently free tier. Articles that describe one are out of date. If a free plan is a requirement, look at tools that still offer one.
How much is Freddy AI on Freshdesk?
Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent per month on top of your plan. Freddy AI Agent includes the first 500 sessions, after which additional sessions are $49 per 100. Copilot is priced per agent; sessions are priced per conversation, so the two scale on completely different curves.
What is a Freshdesk day pass?
A day pass lets one extra person work in the helpdesk for a single day without buying a permanent seat. They cost $2 on Growth, $7 on Pro and $12 on Enterprise. For teams with predictable seasonal spikes they are usually cheaper than carrying extra annual seats through the quiet months.
Is Freshdesk cheaper than Zendesk?
Not on the first two tiers. Both start at $19 and both charge $55 for their middle plan. The two products diverge at the top of the range and on what each includes before add-ons, which we break down in our Freshdesk vs Zendesk comparison.
How we compiled this
Figures were read directly from the vendor’s own pricing page on 15 September 2026 and are published as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent claim. We lead with pricing structure — which costs scale with agents, which scale with tickets, and which limit binds first — because that stays true after the numbers change.
