Which links are affiliate links

Affiliate links on this site are marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" attributes and appear primarily in review pages as buttons or links to the vendor. Internal links between our own pages are never affiliate links.

What commission does not buy

We want to be specific, because vague disclosure statements are worthless:

• A commercial relationship does not buy a higher position, a better assessment, or the removal of criticism.
• We do not accept payment for inclusion in a review or a category listing.
• We do not accept vendor-written content presented as editorial.
• We list competing alternatives on every review, including alternatives that pay us nothing.
• We review and continue to publish reviews of products we earn nothing from.

Why we disclose this way

United States Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements requires that material connections be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, close to the recommendation, and not buried where a reader is unlikely to see it. Similar requirements apply under advertising standards regimes in the UK, EU, India and elsewhere.

Placing the disclosure at the top of each review, above the first affiliate link, is our interpretation of clear and conspicuous. If you think we have fallen short anywhere on this site, tell us.

You are never obliged to use our links. You can navigate directly to any vendor mentioned here, and the price and terms you receive will be identical.
