GoHighLevel vs ClickFunnels (2026)
Both start at $97 a month, which makes them look like competitors. They are not really competing for the same buyer: one is built to run many businesses, the other to run many funnels for one business. Answer that question and the comparison is already over.
- Same entry price
- $97/mo for both
- GoHighLevel scales by
- Client sub-accounts
- ClickFunnels scales by
- Contacts on your list
- Deciding question
- One business, or many?
The one question that decides it
Are you running marketing for one business, or for several?
If several — as an agency, a consultant with retainer clients, or an operator with a portfolio — GoHighLevel is built for you, because it is a multi-tenant platform where each client gets an isolated workspace and you can eventually resell the whole thing under your own brand.
If one, ClickFunnels is the better fit and GoHighLevel is largely wasted on you. You would be paying for client-management machinery you never open, and accepting a steeper learning curve to get it.
- Skip GoHighLevel if
- You have one business. The sub-account model, the rebilling, the SaaS mode — none of it applies, and the complexity is real.
- Skip ClickFunnels if
- You manage client accounts. Separating clients means separate subscriptions, which gets expensive fast.
What they cost, and what the price buys
| GoHighLevel | ClickFunnels | |
|---|---|---|
| Entry | $97/mo — 3 sub-accounts | $97/mo — 10,000 contacts |
| Mid | $297/mo — unlimited sub-accounts | $197/mo — 75,000 contacts |
| Top published | $497/mo — SaaS mode, rebill with markup | $297/mo — 150,000 contacts |
| What forces an upgrade | Adding a fourth client | Crossing a contact ceiling |
| Contacts included | Unlimited on every tier | Capped, and the main cost driver |
| Usage charges on top | Yes — AI, SMS, calling are metered | Not on the published plans |
Both figures read from the vendors’ own pricing pages on 11 September 2026. Full breakdowns: GoHighLevel pricing explained and ClickFunnels pricing explained.
Two opposite pricing models
The table above hides the most important thing about these two products, so it is worth saying plainly: they charge for opposite things.
GoHighLevel gives you unlimited contacts on every tier and charges for client workspaces. ClickFunnels gives you unlimited funnels on every tier and charges for contacts. A business with one huge email list is punished by ClickFunnels and barely noticed by GoHighLevel. An agency with ten small clients is punished by ClickFunnels’ need for separate accounts and is exactly GoHighLevel’s target customer.
There is a sting in GoHighLevel’s model that the sticker price hides: AI, SMS and calling are metered on top of every plan. A heavy-messaging agency can spend more on usage than on the subscription. ClickFunnels’ published plans do not work that way, so its monthly figure is closer to your actual bill.
What you give up either way
Choosing GoHighLevel costs you simplicity. It is a wide platform — CRM, funnels, calendars, SMS, automation, reputation management — and breadth means a learning curve. Teams that adopt it successfully invest real setup time; teams that do not tend to abandon it around week three.
Choosing ClickFunnels costs you scope. It is the more focused product and generally the more polished funnel-building experience, but if your needs grow into client management or heavy CRM you will eventually be running it alongside other tools rather than instead of them.
And there is a third answer worth naming honestly: if what you actually need is funnels, email and courses for one business, Systeme.io does that job from $17 a month with a usable free tier. Its top tier costs what ClickFunnels charges to get in the door. We would be doing you a disservice to run a two-way comparison and pretend the cheaper option does not exist.
Frequently asked questions
Can GoHighLevel replace ClickFunnels?
Functionally it can build funnels, yes. Whether it should depends on your situation: for an agency it comfortably replaces ClickFunnels and several other tools; for a single business it is a large amount of machinery to adopt for a job a simpler tool does more pleasantly.
Which is better value at $97?
They are not comparable at $97. GoHighLevel gives 3 client workspaces and unlimited contacts; ClickFunnels gives 10,000 contacts and unlimited funnels for one business. Pick by which resource you actually need more of.
Is GoHighLevel harder to learn?
Generally yes, and this is a recurring theme in public feedback rather than our own testing. It does more, and it is built for operators rather than beginners. Budget setup time as part of the cost.
Can I resell either as my own product?
GoHighLevel, yes — that is what SaaS mode on the $497 tier exists for, and it is the strongest reason to pick it. ClickFunnels is not designed for white-label resale.
How we compiled this
Prices were read from both vendors’ own pricing pages on 11 September 2026 and are presented as a dated snapshot. Assessments of learning curve and polish are drawn from vendor documentation and recurring themes in public user feedback, not from our own use of either platform.
