Ecommerce & Amazon Selling
Product research, keyword tracking and listing optimisation for marketplace sellers.
A comprehensive Amazon seller toolkit covering product research, keyword tracking, listing optimisation and PPC management.
Read the review →Seller tools are bought too early
Amazon seller software follows a pattern. A new seller buys a full research suite before listing anything, uses perhaps a tenth of it, and pays for two years of tooling that a free plan would have covered while they were still deciding what to sell.
The tools genuinely earn their cost at volume. Keyword research, rank tracking, listing optimisation and PPC management all compound when you have a catalogue to manage and real spend to defend. On one product that has not launched, they mostly produce data you cannot act on yet.
So the question is not which suite is best. It is whether you are past the point where a suite pays for itself — and if you are not, the free plan or a single cheap tool does the job until you are.
| Tool | Best for | How it bills | Free option |
|---|---|---|---|
| Helium 10 | Serious Amazon FBA sellers scaling a catalogue | Monthly tiers set by usage limits | Yes — a limited free plan |
Checked against the vendor’s own pages on 19 September 2026. Current tier prices, and the arithmetic on annual billing versus coupon codes, are in Helium 10 discounts.
When a suite is worth it
You are selling at meaningful volume. This is where Helium 10 pays: research, rank tracking, listing tools and PPC management arrive in one subscription instead of four, and the time saved switching between them is real. Its reputation is built on the keyword and listing tooling rather than on any one headline feature.
You are validating a first product. Do not buy the suite yet. The free plan, or a single cheaper tool, covers what you can actually act on before you have a listing live. Buying early does not accelerate the launch; it just starts the subscription clock sooner.
You are deciding between suites. Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout compares the two on the point that matters most to newer sellers — what the entry tiers actually include, which is where both products are least generous.
One piece of arithmetic worth doing before you subscribe: annual billing on these tools usually beats any discount code applied to monthly billing. We work that through in the discounts guide, because the coupon is the thing everyone searches for and rarely the cheapest route.
Common questions
Is a free seller-tool plan actually usable?
For early research, generally yes — enough to size demand and sanity-check a product idea. The limits bite once you are tracking a catalogue or managing ad spend, which is precisely the point at which a paid tier starts paying for itself. Let the limits tell you when to upgrade rather than guessing in advance.
Do I need seller software at all to start?
No. Plenty of sellers launch a first product on Amazon’s own data plus manual research. Software makes the work faster and more systematic; it does not make a bad product idea good. Treat it as leverage on a process that already works, not as a substitute for one.
Is a discount code the cheapest way to buy?
Usually not. On most seller tools a percentage code applied to monthly billing still costs more across a year than simply paying annually. Check the annual price first, then see whether a code beats it — in our workings it normally does not.
How to compare tools in this category
Every review in this category follows the same structure, so you can compare like with like rather than reading around each vendor’s marketing. Each page states who the tool suits, who should skip it, how pricing is structured, and what the recurring limitations are.
We do not rank tools against each other with a single score. Software fit depends on your team size, budget, region and existing stack, and a numeric ranking would hide those variables rather than help you. Instead, read the Choose it if and Skip it if lines on each review — they are written to disqualify as often as they recommend.
Reviews describe pricing structurally, because SaaS pricing changes frequently and varies by region and contract. Where the figures themselves are the question we publish separate dated guides: Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout explains the entry-tier trap that catches sellers in both products, and Helium 10 discounts shows why the annual rate beats any coupon you are likely to find. Every review links to the vendor’s own pricing page for current rates.
