Helium 10 vs Jungle Scout (2026)
Jungle Scout starts at $29 a month and Helium 10 at $99. That gap is real, but it is not the number that should decide this — the usage limits on Helium 10’s entry tier are tight enough that many sellers who buy it end up paying for the tier above.
- Cheapest entry
- Jungle Scout — $29/mo annual
- Helium 10 entry
- $99/mo annual, $129 monthly
- The catch
- 100 keyword searches a month
- Real comparison
- Check the limits, not the price
The finding that matters
Helium 10’s Platinum plan at $99 a month allows 100 keyword searches per month and 20 tracked ASINs for the lifetime of the account. For anyone doing genuine product research — where a single promising niche can consume a dozen searches in an afternoon — those ceilings arrive fast.
Unlimited keyword searches begin at Diamond, which is $279 a month on annual billing. So the honest framing of this comparison is not $99 against $29. For a serious researcher it is closer to $279 against $49, and that changes the answer.
- Start with Jungle Scout if
- You are researching your first products and your budget is genuinely tight. The entry tiers do not throttle you the same way.
- Pay for Helium 10 Diamond if
- You are running an established catalogue and want the deeper keyword and operations tooling. That is where its reputation is earned.

The limits that decide it
Feature checklists make these two look interchangeable. The usage ceilings do not.
| Helium 10 limit | Platinum ($99) | Diamond ($279) |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword searches | 100 / month | Unlimited |
| Tracked ASINs | 20 lifetime | 1,000 lifetime |
| Market Tracker | 3 markets | 5 markets |
| Users | 1 | 5 |
| Listing Analyzer | 50 uses / month | 150 uses / month |
| Inventory SKUs | 40 | 500 |
Read the two bolded rows again. “20 tracked ASINs” is not a monthly allowance that resets — it is a lifetime cap on the account. A seller who tracks a handful of competitors per product idea will hit it during their first serious research sprint and never get those slots back.
This is not hidden — it is published on the pricing page. But it is the kind of limit that does not register when you are comparing $99 against $29, and it is the single most useful thing to know before choosing between these two.
What each is genuinely better at
Helium 10 is the deeper toolkit. Its keyword tools are the reason experienced sellers pay for it, and the Diamond tier bundles operations tooling — inventory, email follow-up, ad automation — that Jungle Scout does not match at a comparable level. If Amazon is your business rather than a channel, this is the platform that grows with you.
Jungle Scout is the gentler on-ramp and the cheaper one. Its product database and opportunity scoring are well suited to the question a new seller actually has, which is “what should I sell?” rather than “how do I optimise what I already sell?” Its entry tiers do not throttle research the way Platinum does.
One structural difference worth noting: Jungle Scout’s main pricing page shows no plan prices — it segments by revenue band and asks you to click through. Helium 10 puts its numbers and its limits on one page. Neither approach is dishonest, but the second is easier to evaluate, and we would rather say so than pretend the presentation is identical.
How to actually choose
Answer one question: are you looking for a product, or running a catalogue?
Looking for a product means heavy, bursty research over a few months. You want generous research limits at a low price, which points to Jungle Scout’s Starter or Growth Accelerator tiers.
Running a catalogue means steady keyword work, inventory and advertising management across many ASINs. That is Helium 10 Diamond, and at that level its price is defensible against what it replaces.
What we would avoid is Helium 10 Platinum bought as a budget option. It is the tier most likely to leave you paying real money and still hitting a wall.
Frequently asked questions
Is Jungle Scout cheaper than Helium 10?
At entry level, substantially — $29 against $99 per month on annual billing. But compare tiers that do the same job: unlimited keyword research starts at $279 on Helium 10, which changes the arithmetic considerably.
What does 20 tracked ASINs actually mean?
It is a lifetime limit on Helium 10 Platinum, not a monthly allowance. Once used, those tracking slots are gone on that plan. For active product research this is the limit most likely to force an upgrade.
Does either have a free plan?
Neither offers a permanently free tier equivalent to a paid plan. Both run trials and limited free tools. Treat the trial as your test window and run real searches during it, specifically to see how quickly you approach the limits above.
Can I switch later?
Yes, but annual billing is where the discounts live on both platforms, so switching mid-term means paying for the remainder. On Helium 10 the annual saving is $360 a year on Platinum and $960 on Diamond — the full Helium 10 discount arithmetic is here. If you are unsure, pay monthly for the first period even though it costs more — that optionality is worth the premium while you are still learning which tool fits.
How we compiled this
Prices and usage limits were read from each vendor’s own published pricing pages on 11 September 2026, including clicking through to Jungle Scout’s Catalyst plans page where its figures actually live. We have not run either toolkit against a live Amazon catalogue, so assessments of tool depth reflect vendor documentation and recurring themes in public feedback rather than our own testing.
